Everyone's favorite film is coming to DVD this August 10. It will be in a keepcase, decorated with vintage poster art, and fully-loaded with extras and a commentary track. MSRP is $19.97.
I can still remember when there wasn't even a VHS and you could only see it if an arthouse or library was crazy enough to book a copy for a screening. Now anybody who wants to will go to Best Buy or just get it off the Internet. Part of me says that's progress and part of me mourns the loss of having to work to experience something rare, you know?

Re: Freaks DVD News
Thu, June 17, 2004 - 7:01 PMThanks for the info Dave! I'm really excited.
And I totally agree with you about the "work" thing. Is there anything these days that ISN'T easily attainable? The only answer to this question that I can think of is: "Finding a space that isn't invaded by technology". -

Re: Freaks DVD News
Tue, July 6, 2004 - 5:51 PMThere are actually alternate endings on the DVD (who knew?). Also included: theatrical trailer, commentary by David Skal, Freaks: The Sideshow Cinema, and a special message prologue. Fully-loaded Freaks -- it's almost too good to be true.
